Outstanding “Joey” Lecturers 2008
Toby Kid- Toby Kid’s full time job is making people laugh. He performs 200+ elementary school shows annually. He performs at fairs, festivals, company picnics and holiday events. He is a National Touring Headlining Comedian, has driven more than 2 million miles and has performed in 7 countries, 48 states and Mississippi. Toby is married to his first wife to whom he is related to through marriage and they have four children. Toby is an elected member of the Ogden Community School Board and is a recreational cardiovascular surgeon as well as an owner and caretaker of a Laundromat. Toby is the editor of the Clown News Letter and lives in Ogden, Iowa. Yes, he came all the way to Texas to share his talents with us!
Duane and Mary Laflin- Performances on five continents, in forty-seven states and in many countries testify to the appeal of the Laflin program. Their combination of classic stage illusions, upbeat entertainment, comedy and spiritual lessons has touched many lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their ministry is effective in a unique way because it attracts an audience that might not be impacted by more traditional outreach methods. They are specialists in the field of family entertainment and in the work of using amazing effects to create powerful visualized lessons.
Eugenio “Chagy” Adorno- Chagy is a long time lecturer of Joey to the World. He is also an ordained Minster and a full time evangelist. Chagy is multi-talented as he blends humor with the gospel message. You will find him captivating. He is very serious when it comes to teaching and wants the student to learn the right way. He is a commanding performer that has traveled many miles to spread the Good News through clowning. Don’t miss his class!
Rafael “Bombin” Rondon- Bombin is also a regular at Joey to the World. He and his family are dedicated to serve the Lord. Rafael is also an ordained minister and interpreter. Rafael’s musical talent has inspired him to create several CD’s of music to enhance the clown during their performance. Rafael is also a talented magician and his Illusion Workshop is very popular. Steve Kissell- Steve has been performing for 30 years at conventions, schools, churches, libraries, birthday and holiday parties. He also shares the performing arts of clowning, comedy magic, and storytelling. His is a co-producer of Circus Magic, Balloon and Magic Mania, Clown Jubilee and is the director of Comedy Magic Workshop and Kentucky Clown Derby.
Coco Desilets- Coco is a hometown clown that moved to Connecticut several years ago and now lives in New York. She is award winning, talented and willing to teach all she has to offer to you. She is an awesome face painter and a balloon twisting expert. You name an animal or person and she can twist it.
Audria Adorno- Audria was born in New York but raised in Puerto Rico. She grew up in a Christian home and became a Christian herself when she was 13. She and her husband are full time evangelist serving the Lord wherever He leads them. Audria is presently a student at the Seminary in Ft. Worth. She is a talented artist and loves to share the art of face painting with those who desire.
Bertha Grauman- Bertha has been clowning since 1989. She and her husband are the directors of Joy Company, a variety outreach ministry. Bertha is a retired special education teacher. She and her husband teach clowning and the arts throughout the eastern United States. Bertha’s new passion is traveling and doing ministry clowning in third world countries. She has ministered in Nicaragua, Cuba, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama City and Ecuador.
Ralph Dewey- Ralph was the creator of Joey to the World 14 years ago. He is a balloon entrepreneur. Ralph writes books and can supply you with your clowning needs through his company called Good News Balloons. Ralph is a sought after lecturer and has been all over the world telling others about Jesus through his talents. You will find him twisting his heart out this year and amazing you with the simple and the complex. I am sure Ralph can teach you at least one new balloon!
Bo Brown- Bo started clowning in 1959 right after he was born according to his mother. In his early years, Bo clowned at various events and birthday parties. In 1987, he hung up his clown shoes, but in 2002, he was introduced to a different kind of clowning, clowning for Christ. From that point on he was hooked and out came the shoes from retirement. Now he has begun another passion, making clown props for gospel clowns. Bo says now that he is clowning in church he gets to do in church what he used to get a whipping for, go figure. Isn’t God great?!
Becky Deltenre- Becky is a “hometown clown” with talent and many state and international awards. Better known as Skeeter, this clown even has an official clown car that attracts attention. Becky is Past President of Cheerful Clown Alley and two time All Around Clown for Texas Clown Association. Creativity is her specialty.
Tony and Nikki Jones- Tony and Nikki have a Christ centered, Bible believing ministry whose goal is to spread the Gospel through their unique clown performances in churches and community venues throughout the United States. They also travel full time teaching and training clowns in the art of ministry. They are responsible for the outstanding TNT Camp each summer in Taccoa, Georgia, a must for every dedicated ministry clown.
Miguel Badillo- Miguel comes all the way from Puerto Rico. He is a seasoned performer and full time payaso. Miguel loves puppetry, stilt walking and sharing the gospel through the art of clowning.
Don Billings- Don owns Billings Jewelry in the Bay Brook area but he has been clowning for years. Don is one of the finest Tramp clowns in the United States, well medaled for years. But, Don did not stop there. He is an awesome Whiteface and Character clown. He has a priceless surprise for the participants that attend his class. If you love history, visit with Duddle.
Sue Kleinwachter- “Pancakes” is “The Queen of Theme” and hails from the windy city of Chicago. Her enlightening presentations will spark smiles and enthusiasm that will allow you to open new doors of creativity with your entertainment and compassion for clowning. Sue is a full time clown, storyteller and public speaker.
Andy Anderson- Andy has shared his love of clowning for many years through clown ministry, training schools, conventions, local alleys and his own clown business. His greatest skill lies in clown magic. He and his wife Rhea own Kudos. Andy is a member of Cowtown Clowns and has won many awards.
Terri Stokes- “Happy Heart” is just that! She just radiates gentleness. Terri is a full time clown and has her Balloonalogy Degree. She can make ANYTHING out of a balloon. She is an award winning clown and a member of Cheerful Clown Alley. Terri has provided Joey with wonderful balloon décor for years.
Pat Gifford- Pat is our very own Pepperoni and has made a million balloons in her clowning lifetime. Pat comes from a clowning family and is a full time clown. Pat loves to share her talents and is a member of Cheerful Clown Alley.
Pat Crosland- Amazing balloon artist! And, she can do all of that with a line waiting! She will head up our balloon jam for all you Ballonatics. Pat is a super teacher and will show you that latest and the greatest.
